🤔 Concerned About Iron-On Patches?
Don’t be. When applied properly, custom embroidered patches are not only durable—they’re a powerful way to elevate your brand’s image. Whether for schools, uniforms, or corporate apparel, these patches instantly add a level of professionalism, identity, and sophistication.
🔥 Why Iron-On Patches Work
One of the most reliable and modern application methods is iron-on backing. At American Raccoon, we craft all of our patches with SUPERIOR HEATSEAL™ backing—an industrial-grade adhesive that bonds permanently when heat and pressure are applied correctly.
Unlike embroidery designs that can be removed or fade with time, our patches are designed to stay in place. Once applied, they’re permanent—not peel-off decals.
💡 Key Benefits of Custom Embroidered Patches:
-
Available in a wide range of shapes, sizes, colors, and fonts
-
Easy to apply to shirts, jackets, hats, uniforms, and more
-
Can be washed and dried repeatedly without fading or falling off
-
Withstand the wear and tear of high-activity industries:
education, hospitality, manufacturing, and healthcare
And while our patches are permanent once applied, they’re designed in a way that won’t damage the garment if removed properly before sealing, making reuse possible in select cases.
🧪 How to Know If You’re Using an Iron-On Patch
This might sound obvious, but not all patches are iron-on. Some have Velcro, some are stick-on, and others use plastic backing.
Here’s how to identify our heat-seal patches:
-
✅ Shiny backing: Our patches don’t feel sticky at first—they activate only when heat is applied.
-
✅ Edge-to-edge adhesive: Our iron-on patches have glue that reaches all the way to the edges. If your patch has a blank border on the back, it’s likely a plastic-back patch (not iron-on).
-
❌ Avoid tape-backed patches: Some manufacturers use a peel-and-stick method. These are temporary and not designed to last through wear or washing.
